The Delaware Charity Challenge is a unique fundraising and athletic competition designed to give organizations, families, and individuals a fun way to raise money and awareness for their favorite causes. Teams that enter may designate any charity they want as a beneficiary of funds they raise as a team. Part of the proceeds from the race registrations and the race sponsorships will go into a prize pool that will be distributed among the charities that raise the most money and to the charities of the teams that win the individual race events on the day of the Delaware Charity Challenge.

Only Two Weeks To Go Before The Winter Indoor Triathlon!

Charles Vincent

Happy New Year! There are only two more weeks before the First Annual Delaware Charity Challenge Run, Row, Bike Indoor Triathlon at the Chase Center in Wilmington! On Saturday, January 9, 2016, teams and individual competitors will be running, rowing, and biking for their favorite cause! We have more than 100 pre-registered to compete so far. There are still openings for competitors and teams for the 8 am slots and the afternoon slots (after 1 pm) for those who haven't signed up yet. For those competing, we will be sending another email with specific details about January 9 next week. For others who want to compete, don't delay, sign up today!

Don't forget there is also a health fair that will be going on at the same time as the triathlon and worth checking out. You can see the current list of exhibitors and sponsors of the Pursuit of Health & Wellness Expo here. If you're planning to cheer on the competitors at the triathlon or attend the Expo, please let us know you're coming by RSVP'ing here: General Attendance or Spectator Registration. It is free to attend and support your teammates!

Winter Race to Raise Update

With a little less than two weeks to go, the Winter Race to Raise Fundraising Competition is going strong. Teams have collectively raised more than $4,000 for their favorite causes. The race to raise is still any team's to win, and the WJBR advertising prizes are good incentives for all of the teams to consider trying to win. The current leaderboard (as of 1:00 P.M., 12/29) is:

  1. Musella Foundation for Brain Tumor Research & Information (Team Spagnoletti & Associates) ($1,150)
  2. Mosaic in Delaware ($950)
  3. Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (Team LLS Survivors) ($430)

The full list of all teams and their causes (and how much they have raised can be found here). The Race to Raise will continue until midnight, January 8, 2016 and winners will be announced online and at the triathlon on January 9! You can support any of the causes supported by the teams in the competition by clicking on the donate button on their team fundraising pages here: https://www.crowdrise.com/challengede. Team members are encouraged to share their team fundraising page to help raise more money for their chosen charities. Remember, all donations are tax deductible, and donations given by midnight on December 31 are tax-deductible for 2015. Support these and any of the teams in the Delaware Charity Challenge.

Swag for Winter Indoor Triathlon

All competitors in the triathlon will be receiving a couple of cool things as part of their registration, in addition to the various giveaways that the exhibitors in the Pursuit of Health & Wellness Expo may have when you visit their booths or tables. All of our Medley & Run, Row, Bike Triathletes will be receiving towels courtesy of our presenting sponsor, Innovincent, and also these cool bags (photographed) courtesy of our Promotional Partner, Delaware Sports Commission. We'll be sharing these images on our Instagram and Facebook pages soon. For those bringing young children to cheer on the competitors, First State Kids will also be there with some things to keep them occupied as well. Like and Follow our Facebook page for more information about the event as it is posted over the final couple of weeks.
