The Delaware Charity Challenge is a unique fundraising and athletic competition designed to give organizations, families, and individuals a fun way to raise money and awareness for their favorite causes. Teams that enter may designate any charity they want as a beneficiary of funds they raise as a team. Part of the proceeds from the race registrations and the race sponsorships will go into a prize pool that will be distributed among the charities that raise the most money and to the charities of the teams that win the individual race events on the day of the Delaware Charity Challenge.

We have had a change in the Race to Raise leaderboard. As of 11 a.m. on April 6, our top three teams are now Team Veritext, Team Cure Sanfilippo Syndrome, and Team Second Wind Fund. Many other teams are moving up and catching up, so it will make for a fun and competitive finish over the next three weeks.

Team Veritext remains in first place with $4,750 raised for Ministry of Caring. Team Cure Sanfilippo Syndrome has moved into second with $1,360 raised for the Team Sanfilippo Foundation. Team Second Wind Fund is in third place with $1,345 raised for Second Wind Fund of Boulder County. The Race to Raise will continue until April 29 at 11:59 p.m., the day before the race. Congrats also to Team Veritext for Ministry of Caring and Team End Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, who won first and second in the second March Mini-Fundraising Competition last week.

For the current April Mini-Fundraising Competition to win the Sheraton South Wilmington Suite Prize, Team Cure Sanfilippo Syndrome is in the lead with $1,060 raised and Team Veritext is right behind with $800 raised. This mini-fundraising contest ends tomorrow at noon and we will announce the winners on our Facebook page.

Feature Grand Prize: WJBR

Our top fundraising teams are vying to win three grand prizes in addition to the cash prizes awarded from the prize pool, from the Wilmington Blue RocksWJBR, and DETV. This week we feature 99.5 WJBR, our Media Sponsor for the Delaware Charity Challenge winter indoor triathlon & the spring 5K and Adventure Challenge Relay.

All teams are eligible for the WJBR prizes, which will be awarded to the top 2 fundraising teams overall this spring. First prize is an on air advertising schedule valued at $5,000. Second prize is an on air advertising schedule valued at $3,000. Commercials can run on 99.5 WJBR or 610 Sports ESPN Radio. The campaigns will be customized according to the winner's advertising needs provided they help raise awareness for their chosen nonprofit. These prizes will be in addition to the cash prizes and any other awarded as part of the Delaware Charity Challenge prize pool. To qualify for the 99.5 WJBR advertising prizes, teams must raise at least $1,000 on their team fundraising pages. Read more about the WJBR prize here.

We hope this wonderful prize (and our other prizes) provide some additional incentive to help your teams raise as much money as they can for your favorite causes.

To help the teams raise money for the causes near and dear to their hearts, and also win one of these great prizes, click on the blue Donate button on their team page at www.crowdrise.com/challengede.
